The Face of Modern Battle Skirmish Rules

The Face of Modern Battle is a set of miniatures rules for conducting skirmish battles from 1950 to present. The rules cover all aspects of modern skirmish miniatures gaming, from infantry to tanks, helicopters, river boats, raw to elite soldiers, equipment and more. Each figure on the table represents one soldier or one tank. The Face of Modern Battle is designed to be played with 15mm to 28mm scale figures. A player may typically control between 10 to 30 soldiers and 3 to 7 vehicles. The players command their forces with numerous combat, tactical and game options, utilizing skill rather than blind chance. Like soldiers on the battlefield, players make decisions under pressure. The rules are very comprehensive, but easy to learn.

The game includes more than 159 pages of rules and supporting chapters, reference charts, counter and card templates, 3 scenarios, generic weapon data for all nations, over 60 vehicles for United States, Russia, Great Britain and Israel, equipment lists, and much more.

During April 24 - May 11, 1967, the 3rd Marines battle NVA forces around Khe Sanh! During the spring of 1967, the "First Battle of Khe Sanh" or "The Hill Fights" took place. In extremely bitter fighting with North Vietnamese troops, the 3rd Marines cleared Hills 881S, 881N, and 861 overlooking Khe Sanh Combat Base. This is the first scenario book for The Face of Battle. The book contains 12 detailed scenarios, maps of Khe Sanh and the surrounding area, timelime, weapon data for numerous Marine and NVA firearms, grenades and ordnance, the M50 Ontos, and more.
